Lost Time’s musicians have been central to the bluegrass scene in upstate NY since the 1970’s but did not come together until the summer of 2000, when four long-time friends started to play sessions just for pleasure. They chose the name Lost Time to signify all the time they had known each other without falling into this particular pattern of players. Lost Time played its first gig in February of 2001, and by October of that year, had been nominated for a SAMMY.

The line up includes SAMMY Award winning mandolinist Perry Cleaveland and banjoist John Burton, who cut their musical teeth on the traditional bluegrass sounds of Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, and The Stanley Brothers.  Bassist/songwriter Don Anderson has been influenced more by folk, rock, country, and progressive bluegrass, but has a deep understanding of how the authentic traditional bluegrass should be played.  Multi-instrumentalist Ted Lambert, who is also a founding member of Buffalo, NY’s, Creek Bend (Copper Creek Records) is on guitar. Three-time Montana State Fiddle Champion, Taylor Buckley rounds out the group on fiddle and is the band’s newest addition.  Recent recordings include “It’s About Time” (Lost Time - 2003), “Bluegrass Memories” (Ted – 2005), and “Big Green Field” (Taylor – 2006).
